It has become very common for In Lieu of Flowers to make charitable donations to other organizations in memory of the loved one. Your funeral home director will set up your loved one’s account at ILOF.com® and provide you with the link for you to immediately share with all of your friends and relatives through email and all social media venues. All donated funds will be directed to the funeral home.
The money donated to a campaign is paid directly to the funeral service provider working with the family of the deceased. The family will instruct the funeral director on how they want the donations dispersed. This may include ILOF.com® settling the funds directly to a nonprofit organization in the name of the loved one, a local hospice or church or to the funeral home to assist in their cost of services.
The platform defaults to 14 days and we recommend not leaving it open longer than 30 days. At any time, the director can close the campaign as needed.
Our standard fee is only 5% to cover business and administrative costs and a 2.9% fee to cover credit card processing charges.
Other platforms default a minimum of 10% ‘tip’ and up to 25%, which in turn cost your donor much more money. Studies show that once this is displayed, the donor will go in and lower his donated amount to cover this added tip. We’re more about getting as much monies for the families in need than we are about making money.

As soon as the fund is created, your funeral home director will provide you with a link to share with all of your friends and relatives. It is extremely easy for them to also share with their friends in assisting you in covering the costs. Experience shows that once the goal amount is reached, donations cease. Any monies received greater than the campaign, the funeral director will discuss with you on how to disperse these funds. We will then follow the family’s directive.
