In loving memory of Grandmaster John Roberts, a luminary in our community. Among my most cherished memories growing up in the early 2000’s was the honor of training at Traditional Martial Arts in Round Lake alongside my brothers. TMA was not just a place to train, it was an enclave of hope with Master Roberts and his loving wife Laurie at its heart. We learned discipline, integrity, respect and perseverance as well as a deep sense of community. Master Roberts taught us with patience, wisdom and a sense of humor that would inspire you do your best, and learn from mistakes. His impact on our lives, martial arts and the community will be remembered for generations. Rest in peace Master Roberts, your memory will live on in our hearts with love and gratitude.
