Ward Thomas Hargrove, a man of quiet strength and a generous heart, passed away on December 18, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1954, in Oakdale, Louisiana, to Tressie Mae Hargrove and Grover Hargrove, who instilled in him the values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family that he carried throughout his life. Ward found peace in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, where patience and stillness suited his nature. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family, whether gathered together or sharing simple, everyday moments. A special place in his heart belonged to his beloved fur baby, Bell, who was never far from his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tressie Mae Hargrove and Grover Hargrove; his wife, Jane McKee Hargrove; his brother, Grover Cleveland Hargrove Jr.; two nieces, Tiffany Danielle Ortego and Tracy Leann Willis; one nephew, Leonard Ray Thomas Vasseur; and his granddaughter, Hannah Watts. Ward is survived by his sister, Birdie Hargrove; his brother, Lossie “LH” Hargrove; and his stepchildren, three daughters: Vickie (Travis Watts), Tamara (Gary Gibson), and Crystal (Audie Glascock). He also leaves behind five nieces, two nephews, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love, resilience, and quiet devotion. Ward will be remembered as a steady presence, a family man, and someone who found happiness in simple things. His memory will live on in the stories told, the traditions passed down, and the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him. “Ward has gone home to rest in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones gone before him, and will be deeply missed until that sweet day we meet again.” Though Ward has laid down his earthly burdens, Ward’s love, strength, and quiet presence will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends of Ward Thomas Hargrove who prefer to provide a memorial contribution may do so. The family will use these to honor Ward's life and memory. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.
