It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Veronica Rose Boyd Boley, who peacefully leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, faith, and love. Born on March 29, 1957, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Veronica lived 69 years, touching the lives of family, friends, and members of her community through her gentle spirit and the genuine care she showed to others.

Veronica was a truly remarkable woman whose mild temperament and kind disposition made her a refreshing person to talk with. She possessed a gentle way of interacting with others that put people at ease and made conversations with her a pleasure. Her warmth and sincerity were evident in the way she treated people, and those who knew her will remember the comfort and kindness they experienced in her presence. She did not need grand gestures to make a lasting impression; her beautiful character spoke for itself.

One of Veronica’s most endearing qualities was her selflessness. She never wanted to be a burden to anyone, yet she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was thoughtful of others and demonstrated her caring nature through her willingness to help whenever she could. Her humility, consideration, and genuine concern for the well-being of others made her a treasured presence in the lives of those around her. She exemplified the beauty of a life centered on kindness, generosity, and love.

Her Faith and Ministry

Veronica’s faith in Jehovah God was a defining part of her life. She learned about Jehovah from her brother, Albert Boyd. She was baptized on October 5, 1975 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and remained an active publisher of the good news for more than five decades. Her love for Jehovah and her desire to share her faith with others continued to be a priority throughout her life, helping her husband teach more than 10 people to love Jehovah as well. Her ministry was an important expression of her conviction and her desire to share with others the spiritual hope she treasured. Her steadfast devotion to Jehovah remained an enduring part of who she was.

Her Career and Accomplishments

Veronica retired from AT&T in 2006 and later retired from the Louisiana Workforce Commission in 2023. Through her years of employment, she held many roles including customer service, quality assurance, and as an unemployment claims adjudicator.

Her Family and Legacy

Veronica’s greatest legacy lives on through the family and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Preston Boley Sr.; her son, Frank Preston Boley Jr., and his wife, Lytrell; her daughter, Deirdra Boley; her bonus daughter, Patricia Brown, and her husband, Billy; and her cherished grandchildren, Frank Preston Boley III, Taylor Brown, and Sunnie Brown.

She also leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Ella Mae Greely, Houma, LA, Earnest Boyd, Cleveland, OH, Sylvester Boyd (Brenda), Livermore, CA, and Jeanette Marie Muluala (January), Desoto, TX; her sisters-in-law, Terria Boyd, Bogalusa, LA and Venechor Boyd, Cleveland, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other dear family members, and treasured friends.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanette and William Boyd Sr., and her brothers, William Boyd Jr., Albert Boyd, and Kerry Boyd.

Though words cannot fully express the depth of this loss, her family finds comfort in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection (John 5:28,29) and being reunited with her on a paradise earth (Ps 37:11).
