Vernell Parent Tullier passed from this life into the loving arms of her Savior on June 8, 2026. She was a devoted mother to her five daughters, instilling in them a strong faith and hearts of service. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, receiving all her Sacraments in this beautiful faith community. Vernell was an accomplished graduate of St. Amant High School, where she played basketball and was proud to receive the meritorious American Legion Award. She married her junior high sweetheart, and spent her life as a homemaker and mother, supporting J.R. in his career. She was active in her church parish and in the Catholic Daughters of America (Courts 1955 and 2762) and enjoyed social activities including support of the semi-professional baseball league and as a member of the bowling team. She loved shopping, camping and travel and was always there to lend a hand to her growing family.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, John Ray (J.R.) Tullier of St. Amant, by five daughters, Sondra (Duane) Broussard, Cindy Pendarvis (Mike Hinson), Darlene (Paul) Taranto, Trudy (Dan) Huguet, and Pam (Jeffrey) Melancon. Her beautiful legacy also includes 15 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
