Thomas Nicholas Walsh Jr., born September 24, 1949, was a resident of Baton Rouge for most of his years. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

He was a proud graduate of Catholic High School and Louisiana State University. Tom worked in the environmental safety field, eventually retiring from LSU, where he spent the final 18 years of his professional career. Tom served his country as a member of the Army Reserves.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Nicholas Walsh Sr. and Camille Scardina Walsh. He raised a son, Christopher Walsh (Leigh Barbato Kean, fiancé). He is also survived by his two sisters, Linda Augustine (Fred, husband) and Janet Hammonds (Dale, husband).

Tom found great pride and pleasure in his niece and nephews, Amber Hammonds, William Augustine, Joseph Augustine (Danelle, wife) and their son, Tripp. Tom was an avid reader and huge fan of the LSU Tigers. He was a season football ticket holder for many years.

The family would like to recognize Tommy’s friends. Many of these friendships began in grade school, survived the test of time, and remain as strong today as they ever were. The memories that were made and the support that was given were important to Tom. He reflected on them often to carry him through the tough days. Tommy cherished his family and his friends above all. With eternal love and gratitude, he will carry you with him
as he goes with God.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Ollie Steele Burden Manor, Pinnacle Hospice, and all that provided care to Tom over the years.

The funeral will be held at St. George Church, located at 7808 St. George Dr. on Thursday, April 9, 2026 with visitation beginning at 9:30am until the service at 11:00am.
