Ronnie Tuschhoff, 80, passed away on March 21, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on May 18, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Joseph Daniel Tuschhoff and Lucy Anna Petzoldt.
Ronnie is survived by his older brother, Clayton (Stella) Tuschoff of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his twin brother, Lonnie (Sharon) Tuschhoff of Altenburg, Missouri; his son, David (Rachel) Tuschhoff; and his three step-grandchildren, Lance Zimmerman, 20, Hannah Zimmerman, 18, and Peyton Tidwell, 13. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Carole Gay Tuschhoff, who passed away in August 2017, and his daughter, Donna Jo Tuschhoff, who passed away in November 2019.
Farming was Ronnie’s first love and his first career. He applied the knowledge and skills he learned while helping on the family farm where he grew up. He knew the trade well and found success in it until hardships came in the early 1980s. Prior to that, he learned the auctioneering trade and worked for Dave Hale, while also building a small equipment business with the help of his brothers, Lonnie and Leon.
In 1985, Ronnie made a life change and began driving trucks, making deliveries for fuel companies with the help of his brother Clayton, and found his new
home in Baton Rouge. Eventually, he returned to tractor work, developing land for Boone Services. Later, he worked on farms caring for cattle in Greensburg and Kentwood, Louisiana, until his retirement.
Ronnie will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, his willingness to help others, and his lifelong connection to the land through farming.
He had a deep love for rebuilding tractors, which became one of his fondest hobbies. He also treasured traveling home to Missouri to visit family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and their families as often as he could.
His son, David, will always cherish the memories of being with his dad at an early age, working on the farm and riding in tractors and combines. Even when he would fall asleep at the bottom of the cab, he was happy just to be close to him. Those moments became some of the most treasured memories of his childhood, along with the lessons Ronnie taught him about hard work and always providing for family.
No service is planned at this time. Ronnie’s ashes will be buried with his wife and daughter at St. John’s in a private family gathering.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends of Ronnie Lee Tuschhoff who prefer to provide a memorial contribution may do so. The family will use these to honor Ronnie's life and memory. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.
