Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Shaffer passed away the evening of June 15, 2026. He was 81 and a native of Greenwell Springs, LA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a strong Christian and loved his family, his animals, and his vegetable gardens.

Ronnie is survived by his son Jason Wayne Shaffer and his wife Amanda of Walker, LA; daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Irene and her husband Joe Bordelon of Denham Springs, LA; five grandchildren Dayne Michael Bordelon, Gage Austin Bordelon, Meghan Elizabeth Shaffer, Aiden Cole Bordelon, and Samantha Allyn Shaffer; one great granddaughter Berkley Grace Bordelon. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Shaffer; parents, Jesse and Edith Shaffer; brothers, Jesse “Buddy” Shaffer and Carroll Lee Shafter; and sister, Kathryn Foster.

Visitation will take place at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 16024 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10am to 12pm with funeral services to follow. Burial will take place in the church cemetery immediately after the service.

Pall bearers will be Dayne Bordelon, Gage Bordelon, Joe Bordelon, Chris Foster, Chad Foster and Brett Leonard.

We take comfort knowing that Ronnie was met at the gates of Heaven by his lord Jesus Christ and his wife, Wanda Shaffer.
