Rita Joyce Racheau Kilshaw, known affectionately to all as Joyce, passed away at the age of 91 on May 13, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, surrounded by the love of her family. Joyce's life was dedicated to her family, her students, and her faith.

Joyce's greatest love in her career life was her role as a teacher at St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge. Her students fondly remembered her long after they left her classroom. She had a never-ending desire to learn as evidenced by obtaining her master’s degree in social work at the age of 55.

Joyce's legacy is carried on by her loving family: her sons Brad Kilshaw (Kathy) and Hal Kilshaw; her daughters Kerri D'Amico (Frank) and Shannon LeMoine (Leon); and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each family member was touched by Joyce's strong Catholic faith.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Billy Kilshaw and her children Renee and William Kilshaw.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Friday May 16, 2025 for a visitation starting at 9:30 AM until the mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM. Graveside service will immediately follow at St George Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IgnatianMinistries.org or TheRedShoes.Org.
