Our beautiful Rachael has an amazing spirit. Her laughter was contiguous, she laughed often and loved with every fiber of her being. Our Rachael had a way of wrapping you in her love, you just knew that everything was going to be OK. Rachael would light up a room when she entered. Our Rachael was a special gift, given not just to her Daddy and I, but to the world. Rachael loved our Lord and was not afraid to let the entire world know. She was fun, quirky, a little bit dark, a whole lot of love, a sunbeam, no, she was our Rae of Sunshine. Rachael loved with every fiber of her being, and she was not afraid to let you know it. If something or someone was different, Rachael was drawn to it/them. Rachael is best described as someone who loved to read her Bible, watch Harry Potter then go play a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity. Rachael had a way of making you feel special. It didn’t matter if you were the CEO, a doctor or the janitor, she treated everyone the same. That’s not true. If you were the janitor, or someone she felt was left out or got overlooked, she would pay you a little extra attention. She wanted everyone to know that they were special and mattered. She appreciated you. Our family is huge because of Rachael’s cancer journey, Rachael would have wanted the St. Jude Angels to be honored at her services and they will be. Chemo and losing a child is much the same, Chemo destroys the immune system to the brink of death to kill the cancer and then the immune system hopefully builds back and the cancer is replaced with good cells. When we lose child, we lose a piece of our heart, we then pray that our heart build back before it happens again. In eight years, we have had relationships with about 40 children that Rachael is singing and dancing with today. We are trying to rebuild our hearts. There were so, so many people and organizations that supported us in so many ways, we would like to thank them all. We would like to thank them all but will not name them for fear of missing just one. The Louisiana State Police and Tabor Millien will be her pall bearers. Rachael designed a sticker for Team Rachael, it included a Phoenix because she had to rise from the ashes, a Grey cancer ribbon and her favorite quote from Harry Potter “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light” Rachael was and is our Light, she is here and will be in our hearts forever.

If you remember anything of me after I leave this world remember that I loved even when it was foolish. That I cared even when it was unwanted. When my body is gone remember my heart.

Rachael and I along with a couple others went to see the new Aladdin movie and we absolutely loved it. We shared a large popcorn and we sang songs the whole way home. I will always remember that day.

I remember hanging out with Rachael at a party once. We kinda just clicked and I don't remember what we talked about but I remember having a great time with her there. She was always such a happy person in school and she was a wonderful person to be around. I also remember spending the night at her house for her birthday once. We played house with all of her friends in the camper that was in the back of her house. We had a great day then, too. She always made sure to include everyone. Even thought we were never super close, I miss her so much.

Rachael was always such a joy to be around, always smiling, always laughing! My favorite memories of her was our Disney Vacation, and the drive there and back. The countless hours of the girls singing, laughing and giggling is forever in my heart! A picture of her and Jordyn from that trip, still hangs in my room. Thank you for sharing her with us! you’re in our thoughts, and praying for God‘s loving arms to wrap around you and give you peace and comfort. Love y’all ❤️
