Born in Hammond, Louisiana, Patricia was a beloved member of her community and is remembered for her diverse career, primarily as a painter in shipyards and plants, though she often remarked that she had dabbled in a little bit of everything.
Throughout her life, Patricia cherished spending time with her family, creating memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones. Her interests included traveling and enjoying the occasional trip to the casino, pastimes that brought her joy and excitement.
Surviving Patricia are her devoted children: Tonya Collins and Jason, Leslie Shaffett and Emily, Lenore Starkey, Steven Starkey Samantha, and Tony Starkey. She was a proud grandmother to Paige Gros Nicholas, Jason Collins Jr and Abby, Justin Shaffett Destiney, Elyssa Duncan and Brandon, Izacc Duncan, Jaelyn Duncan, Cheslie Starkey, and Hope Andrews. Patricia also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren Riley Gros, Ezekiel Smith, and Cayson Hull, her brother Kenneth Shaffett and Shelia, her best friend Beverly Mayeaux, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom she held dear. She is also survived by her family at Ponchatoula Community Care Center.

In this time of sorrow, Patricia's family and friends will cherish the remarkable legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, resilience, and creativity. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her memory will be a source of comfort and strength for all. Patricia Ann Starkey will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
