A ceremony celebrating the life of Norris “Boy Boy” Ballard Jr., will be held at 11 am at New Life Worship Center, 806 Hospital Road, New Roads, Wednesday, September 25, 2019; visitation will begin at 9 am. Service officiated by Pastor Jimmy Babin.
Mr. Ballard was born in Jarreau, LA on February 18, 1938 and departed from this life on September 18, 2019 at his residence at the age of 81 years.
He was a resident of Baton Rouge, retired owner of Paddle Inn Rafting Company and served with the U S National Guard. He enjoyed traveling, camping and dancing, especially the “Jitter Bug” with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents Norris and Marie Jarreau Ballard; his sister Mary Jane Knapp.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Kathleen Ballard; children Vicky Smith and Ricky Ballard; his grandchildren, that called him “Poppa” Gabrielle Blanchard, Alexandra and Arlene Ballard, Joey, Seth, Caleb, Jacob and James Smith; great grandchildren Aaron, Gia, Evie, Nena, and Nellie Blanchard, Noah, Charlotte, Waylen and Clara Smith; also survived by a special niece Yvonne Morrell and great nephew Chad Stromain and wife Bridgette.
In lieu of flowers, this www.inlieuof.com page has been set up so that friends and family are able to make memorial donations in Mr. Ballard’s honor. Gifts of love that are given will be used by the family to honor his life and memory. The family appreciates gifts of love that are received.
