A ceremony celebrating the life of Nannie S. Becnel will be held at 2 pm on Saturday November 2, 2019 at the pavilion of New River Baptist Church Cemetery St Amant. A family reception will follow after the service.
Mrs. Becnel was born on December 30, 1931 to the union of Pearl and Hazel Caldwell Short in Saylor, KY and passed from this life on Sunday October 20, 2019 at her residence. She was a resident of Prairieville and a member of the Baptist Faith. She had a passion for crafting, especially sewing and painting.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Jeannette Carol Wallace; grandsons Joshua Wallace and Benjamin Guitreau; husbands Leroy Wallace and Yves Becnel; her parents and siblings.
Survivors include her children Sandra McFerren (Huey), Rev. Richard P. Wallace (Beverly) and Darrell D. Wallace; siblings Delores, Mary, Ruth, Nena, Floyd, Pearl Jr, Everett and Graylen; grandchildren April, Brandy, Rebecca and Misty; great grandchildren Ethan, Bridget, Lane, Jalie, Nathan and Daynie; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
