Jeanie Plaisance, a resident of Prairieville, and a native of Michigan, passed away from this life on Sunday November 21, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center O’Neal Campus Baton Rouge at 11:15 pm at the age of 78 years.
Jeanie was born in Freemont, Michigan on July 31, 1942, and a remained a resident there until the age of 19 years, them moved to Louisiana. She was mother to four sons, one daughter, and three stepsons.
She worked as an insurance sales agent for many years and owned a business in Port Vincent. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sister, children and especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Plaisance, who passed away at the age of 71 years, her son Tab Prestridge.
Survivors include her children Jolie Delaune (Daniel), Adam Plaisance, and Kenneth Mitchell; daughter-in-law Chermaine Watts, grandchildren Elizabeth, Breanna, and Christa Prestridge, Baylee and Brodee Delaune, also survived by nine siblings in Michigan, a brother in Florida, also a host of aunts and uncles in Michigan.
A ceremony celebrating the life of Jeanie will be 11 am on Thursday December 3, 2020 at The Church in St. Amant, officiated by Pastor Galeon Albin, visitation will begin at 9 am. Interment will follow at Prairieville Community Cemetery.
A special thanks to Bridgeway Hospice, Ochsner Medical Center, Galvez Lake Fire Department, pastors at The Church in St Amant, our family and friends for their love and support.
