Michael A. Musso, Jr. peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. Born July 1, 1939 to Michael A Sr. and Effie Michael Musso, in Baton Rouge, LA. He is survived by his wife, Debra Dantin Musso and their children Ashley Musso Nangle (Kevin) and Michael Todd Musso, grandsons, Reid Michael Nangle and Brantley Richard Nangle and son, Ellis Michael Musso. Brothers, Johnnie Norton Musso and David Anthony Musso (Sally), sister Mary Anne McCallum (Ronnie), sister-in-law Maralyn Amedee Musso and nieces and nephews.
Michael graduated from Baton Rouge High, attended LSU and later attended Winona School of Professional Photography to perfect his photography skills.
After serving in the Navy he was a photographer for Department of Highways. While successfully operating Michael’s Photography for over forty years, he traveled Louisiana highways and back roads photographing plantation homes and publishing Plantation Homes of Louisiana. He was a very active member of the Professional Photographers of America and Louisiana Professional Photographers earning many awards for his photography of brides, families and seniors. Because of his special talent to see light, he could almost make an image seem alive. He especially loved photographing high school seniors and their special dances.
Michael loved taking summer or winter vacations with his family and fun road trips with his golf buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many special relatives and friends.
Visitation is Tuesday July 7 at 9:00am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, Michael requested memorials for St. Joseph Academy, 3015 Broussard St., Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
