On June 19, 2025, early morning hours, Mr. Larry G. Stevens, age 72 of Ethel, LA, embarked on a new journey, free from any pain and now in full joy resting in peace. His spirit took flight leaving Ethel, LA to begin his new life in Heaven.
Mr. Larry G. Stevens precedes the death of both his parents, Bobby G. Stevens of Gloster, MS, and his sweet, loving mother Florence T. McGraw Boyd of Centerville, MS.
He leaves behind his two loving children, Shayne L. Stevens of Central, LA, and Melissa Stevens Mitchell of Pride, LA, and his wife Jennifer Edwards Stevens of 19 years of marriage.
Larry precedes the death of two stepchildren, Brock and Kamen Ballow both of Louisiana.
He leaves behind grandchildren, Cole Stevens, Caitlin Stevens, Brody Mitchell, Land Mitchell and step-grandchildren that he adored as his own, Andon and Allie Berthelot, and Piper Ballow. Larry has one daughter-in-law, Aimee Stevens, along with a sister-in-law, Donna Edwards; and his one and only brother-in-law whom he loved Dickie Edwards; and a son-in-law, Shawn Mitchell; siblings, Richard W. Stevens, Bobby G. Stevens, and Benita Stevens Battles. Larry loved them all.
Larry had a love for horses at a very young age. He was a genuine cowboy with an old soul and a true gentleman. Larry has done a lot of horse training, breaking, and he and his son even did team pinning together. Back in Larry’s younger days, he and his middle brother Richard Wayne Stevens (Rickey) did a lot of rodeoing together riding bulls. Larry even acted as Cecil the clown in rodeos. He was a funny person at times with a beautiful soul.
Mr. Larry G. Stevens will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and friends.
There will be a memorial service on July 7, 2025, at Backroads Steak and Seafood, 3408 LA 67, Slaughter, LA 70777 from 5:30PM – 8:00PM. All family and friends are welcome to join in the celebration of Larry G. Stevens.
