A ceremony celebrating the life of Lanta Evie Simeon Lee will be held on Monday February 26, 2024, at Colyell Baptist Church visitation will begin at 9:00 am until time of service at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Springfield Cemetery, officiating the service will be Rev. Charles Smith.

Lanta was born in Hammond on August 30, 1952, and passed away from this life on February 20, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Frost, she was a homemaker, worked as a legal secretary, and a member of the Baptist Faith.

She and her husband shared the joy of being together, time spent fishing and working in their yard with their flowers. Family and friends always enjoyed watching how they would pick with each other and had many laughs because of that. She loved giving Marx a very hard time, especially over the cats she had. She loved her cats, and Marx loved them because she did, however, he would have preferred it had been dogs. They shared a bond like no other.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mateel and Iva Pate Simeon, siblings Jeanette, Iva Leona “Nicy”, and Charles Joseph Simeon, and a nephew Charles J. Simeon.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years Claude “Marx” Lee, she spoiled and loved her nieces, nephews, great's and great great's as they were her children or grandchildren, also survived by nieces and nephews April Simeon, Suzannah Harper, Jason Simeon (Angela), Sheri Simeon, Randee Jo Herrera (Rick), and Jamie Simeon (Carmen) great nieces Jessica Hardy (Bret), Tailer Hardy (Charles), Ashlynn Ladner (Patrick), Hannah Harper, Emily, Sarah, and Lauren Simeon, honorary nephew Wade Hardy, great-great nieces and nephews Creed and Letty Jackson, Braylee Hughes, Talmadge Sibley, Nevaeh Grace McDonald, Meilani Huber, Elijah Ladner, Baylee Herrera, Addi, Andrew and Lilly Grace Simeon

Serving as pallbearers will be Bret McKinney, Charles Sibley, Patrick Ladner, Jason Simeon, and Wade Hardy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Creed Jackson, Talmadge Sibley, and Elijah Ladner.
