Kenneth Gerard Dufour, also known as "The Roch", passed away on April 11, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 67. He was born October 7, 1956. Kenneth was a dedicated parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In 2013, he was awarded The Order of St. Louis medallion by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Kenneth enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and caring for Purple Martin birds, making sure they had a home to return to each season. His favorite past-times included watching sports and participating in church ministries. Kenneth was a spokesperson for Violet and regularly attended council meetings. Kenneth was employed by St Bernard Parish Water and Sewage Division as Water Meter Supervisor. He graduated from St. Bernard High School class of 1974.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife Susette Long Dufour, two stepdaughters Angelique Mackles (Mike Fireck) and Chrissy Russo Streich (Troy), step-grandson Salvadore Duhe Sr. (Mariah), great grandchildren Jolie and Sal Jr., Brother of Lisa Ellis (Tom), Connie Dufour, niece Melissa E. Wall (Ben), great-niece Lennon Elaine Wall, nephew Christopher Dufour (Catherine), Thomas Ellis, and special friends The Hartson Family. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey J. Dufour and Elaine McEntee Dufour.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 04, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, LA from 9:00-11:00, Rosary at 11:00am, followed by Mass at 11:30am. Burial will take place at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery 701 Virtue St. Chalmette, Louisiana .

In lieu of flowers Contributions can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Repass celebration to follow burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Community Center.

The Dufour family would like to express much appreciation to the Touro Hospital and Sanctuary Passages Hospice staffs as well as family, friends and OLOL parishioners during this most difficult time
