Kenneth “Ed” Norred, a resident of Holden, Louisiana, passed away on April 26, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, at the age of 65.
Ed was born on December 6, 1960. He was a graduate of Holden High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1999. Ed dedicated over 20 years of service as a horticultural manager with BREC, where his passion for nature, landscaping, and community spaces left a lasting impact on all who enjoyed his work.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Lisa N. Badeaux and Stephanie N. Bertone (Louis); his nephew, Danny Gueho Jr. (Sarah); his nieces, Lori McKnight (Ronald), Brittany Wilson (Eddie), Lauren Bertone, and Mallory Vaughn (Jacob); his great-nephew, Ethan McKnight; and his great-nieces, Abigail McKnight, Amelia Carlton, and Annabelle Gueho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Annie Norred; his sister, Pat Gueho; and great-nephew Colt Wilson.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services at First Baptist Church of Algiers on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with services beginning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Bro. Glen Bond.
Burial will follow at Gateway Gardens Cemetery in Livingston, Louisiana.
Ed will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for the outdoors, and the quiet, steady presence he brought to those who knew him.
