Karl David Firesheets passed away on Tuesday June 23, 2026, at the age of 71. Karl was a resident of the greater Baton Rouge area for the vast majority of his life. He was an avid supporter of LSU sports and Saints football. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and relaxing at home in Greenwell Springs. He was a grocery manager at Our Daily Bread for 20+ years prior to retirement. He also worked for 10+ years as an electrical designer and cabinetry estimator. Karl was a loving husband and father, and he will hold a special place in the hearts of his friends and family. Karl is survived by his son Austin Firesheets and wife Allie, his sisters Beth Strange and Melissa Siefken, and husband Tom, and his brother Bill Firesheets, and wife Rene. Karl is preceded in death by his parents, W. T. Firesheets and Ruth Patton Firesheets, as well as his wife Deborah Thrasher Firesheets. The family sends a special thanks to the Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge, as well as Compassus Hospice for all of their care and support. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Blackwater Methodist Church in Central at 10AM. A memorial service will begin at 10:30AM.
