John Glen Tyler

John “Glen” Tyler, born on July 18, 1949, passed away in his daughter’s home on Wednesday, September 8th, 2026. He was 77 years old. Visitation will be held at Revival Temple in Walker, La. on Monday, September 14th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with services starting at 12:00pm.

Glen was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He graduated from Walker High School in 1967 and retired as owner and operator of various scaffolding companies over the last 50+ years. If you knew Glen you knew he had one speed in life… WIDE OPEN. The man never stopped. After his knee surgery went bad in 2023, he was left in a wheelchair for LIFE. He STILL had one speed… WIDE OPEN… as fast as it would go, until it didn’t. He quickly discovered there was another speed in life and it was STOP. After his strokes he realized he could no longer live alone. Even being bed bound, he would still point, fuss, and tell everybody what to do and how to do it. He talked from daylight to dark. He taught us how to load and unload trucks and everything else about scaffolding, hunting, and fishing right from his bed. In our minds, it was time to rest, in his mind, he was still at work, hunting, and fishing but he still had one speed… ALL THE WAY UP. He proved to us that he was a hard worker right up till the end.

Glen is survived by his daughters, Johnette Ross (Scott) and Lynn Kinchen (Keith); his son, David Babin (Renee); 8 grandchildren, Tyler and Torie Ross, Brooks and Blaze Kinchen, Jordyn and Joseph Babin, Meagan and Trey Babin and 4 great grandchildren, Abilene Kinchen, Hudson Kinchen, Jimmie and Ruby Sibley.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Tyler; son, Marty Babin; his parents, Herbert and Quinnie Tyler; his brothers and sisters, Cecil Tyler, Raymond Tyler, Kerney Tyler, Gladys Tucker, Erlene Roby, Evelyn Erwin, and Virgina Cockerham.

Pallbearers: Wade Tyler, Darin Tyler, Daniel Tyler, Milo Scott, Jack Bougeois, Blaze Kinchen, Tyler Ross, Joseph Babin, Brooks Kinchen. Honorary pallbearers: Fred Harris, Kevin Tyler and Myron Tyler. Jr. honorary pallbearers: Tyler Bowser, Turner Bowser, Easton Tyler, and Huntley Tyler.

Glen dedicated his life to his family and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Daddy, Pawpaw Glen, we all love you so very much, we will miss you and will carry you in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, RIP… it’s finally time to rest daddy.

Also to Myron and Linda Tyler for ALWAYS checking on our dad at the drop of a hat, when he was stranded on his wheelchair out in the yard & helping him without even thinking twice.
