James “Jim” Franklin Brown, Jr., 86, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim lived a full and faithful life marked by love, hard work and quiet strength. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a long and rewarding career with Ethyl Corporation, where he made lifelong friends and retired after many dedicated years.
He shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Gayle Brown, who was his partner in every sense of the word. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family and love.
He will be deeply missed by Gayle and their three daughters and spouses, Jackie Irvine, Lyn and Walt Tedder, Laura and Johnnie Stockton; his grandchildren, Emma and Kyle Adams, Rachel Irvine and Sam Justice, Carley and Dillon Boyle, Sage and Matt Murphy, Navy Tedder; and great grandchild Kora Boyle. They will always cherish his wisdom, his laughter, and the countless memories shared as a family.
Jim was a man who found joy in the simple things – time spent with family, travelling, fishing, a good conversation, and lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. His calm presence and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Jim’ s life will be held at First Baptist Church in Denham Springs, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., with services to follow.
The family wishes to thank all who have offered love, prayers and support during this time. Though he will be greatly missed, Jim’s legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends of James Franklin Brown, Jr. who prefer to provide a memorial contribution may do so. The family will use these to honor Jim's life and memory. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.
