A ceremony celebrating the life of Gary D. “Bubba” Norwood Jr., will be held on Saturday December 6, 2025, at Galvez Pentecostal Church, visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, officiating the service will be Rev. David Hairford and eulogy by Rev. Ricky Murphy.
Gary was born on May 30, 1978, in Baton Rouge and passed from this life on November 30, 2025, at St Elizabeth Hospital Gonzales, at the age of 47 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Galvez, worked as a millwright, and a graduate of St Amant High School, where he was on the football and powerlifting teams. He held several school records while on the powerlifting team.
He is survived by his parents Gary Sr and Margaret “Margie” Devall Norwood of Galvez, sons Hayden Norwood of Central and Brady Norwood of Livingston, sisters Tammy Norwood and Darla Guy both of Gonzales, nieces Brooklyn Guy, Keegan Norwood, and Madison Johnson, nephew Colt Johnson, and a very special aunt Bobbie Murphy. Also, survived by other relatives and a host of friends.
