Frederick G. Wilde, III, known to many as Fred, passed away on June 4, 2026, in St Amant, Louisiana. He was born on June 24, 1955, and lived a life full of curiosity and kindness. Fred was a retired machinist who loved learning new skills and sharing what he knew with others. Those who knew him often said he never met a stranger.
Fred’s life was marked by his love of adventure. He was always ready to explore new places and try different foods, finding joy in traveling and spending time with family. He had a special talent for not only mastering things quickly but also teaching others with patience and warmth.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa L. Boyd Wilde, and his children: Candis W. Benoit (Elie), Raymond C. Wilde (Tara), and Jason Gardner. Fred was a devoted grandfather to Aaron and Collin Benoit, and Raymond and Rhett Wilde. His sister, Sandra Melancon (Jimmy), along with many nieces and nephews, also carry his memory with them. Fred’s loyal canine companion, Gigi, was by his side and shared in many of his days.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marilyn Wilde, and his brother, Ray Wilde. His family and friends will remember him for his generous spirit, his welcoming nature, and his passion for life.
We celebrate Fred’s life and the many ways he touched those around him—always eager for the next adventure and full of stories to share. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
