On behalf of the family, we thank you for visiting the campaign memorial page. We appreciate memorials made in their memory. Please also take a moment and share a personal memory that will help them in their grief journey. And on the left side, please share this page via your social media. They will sincerely appreciate it.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are preferred for Derrek. As you may know, Derrek passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Gifts of love that are received will be used by the family to honor his life and memory. The family appreciates all acts of kindness shown. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
A ceremony celebrating the life of Derrek William Halley will be held in the future.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to grow up with Derek, but I do fondly remember seeing him when I would visit in the summers. He was always so much fun, goofy, and just a blast to be around! He will be missed and is very loved ❤️

My heart is hurting and I’m so very sorry for this great loss. I loved my nephew and will do my best to only remember the times in life when we were close and happy. I know you are safe in the arms of Jesus now.

I remember playing with Derek in our Great Grandmother’s garden and swinging on her back porch while eating watermelon with salt. Derek would always tease me for being 2 weeks younger than him and he had a wonderful laugh and a great smile! He will be missed!! ❤️

Derek worked with me at EBS, but one time my friend, Charles’ car broke down in Baton Rouge and I called Derek to help us and he came all the way from his house to help us free of charge. I will never forget his kindness and laugh. May the mercy and peace of God cover the family during this time of grief .

My mom came to Baton Rouge from Canton to visit. Her first and only crawfish boil. Ed and Family as always had a great cookout. Derrick (maybe 5yrs old) would grab the live crawfish and take to my mom, to show how big they were. Needless to say my mom was not as excited as Derrick but wth it was a great time and a lasting memory for us especially for my mom. God needed this young man for something........love to the family
