“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will give to me on that day.”

II Timothy 4:7-8.

Charles David McCaskill

Charles went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at age 81. He was a loving husband, father, and grandad.

Charles was a longtime resident of Central and a retiree of BASF in Geismar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lee McCaskill and Minnie Mary Bullock, and stepson Jonathan Daniel Debetaz.

He is survived by Pam, his wife of 38 years, brother Larry McCaskill and wife Lucille (Lu), sister Ginger Luquette and husband Ronnie, sons Chuck McCaskill and wife Donna, Wade McCaskill and wife Jackie, stepsons Larry Dean (Beaux), Jason, and Darren Debetaz. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

. Special thanks to Jason for his loving care during his stepfather’s illness and Hospice in His Care of Baton Rouge. Charles was a faithful member of Cornerstone Fellowship of Central for many years.

He was an avid hunter and loved traveling before his medical challenges limited him, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of the things that will be missed by all are the one-line jokes that Charles was quick to share.

Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Fellowship, 9611 Blackwater Road in Central on Thursday, May 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the service to follow, conducted by his pastor Dick Metz. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park located at 9595 Florida Blvd. at 3:00 pm.
