Charles “Eric” Potter, born on October 1, 1943, in Shreveport, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, died on October 16, 2025, at the age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence P. Potter and mother Margaret Vera Brown of Plaquemine, LA; son Teron Bradley Potter of Baton Rouge, LA; brother Rodney Potter of Jacksonville, FL.
Survived by his wife Helen Jarreau of Baton Rouge; daughter Adaina Biggs of Mobile, AL; grandsons Stephen Watson of London, England, and Teron “Tap” Potter of Baton Rouge; stepson Charles A. McNeil of Austin, TX; stepdaughter Mollie Riley (spouse Glenn) of Baton Rouge; step-grandchildren Charles M. Riley and Glenn Riley, both of Baton Rouge; and uncle Roy Brown of Plaquemine, LA.
Eric was a very talented craftsman. He worked at Midsouth Doors and Frank’s Door company. He was an avid reader, and loved whitewater canoeing, traveling, camping, and hiking.
Eric left behind his wife of 23 years with many wonderful memories. Many thanks to all the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. They gave us so much love and support, may God bless them all.
Visitation will be at Church of the Highlands, 17240 Perkins Rd, Baton Rouge on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:30PM with the service to begin at 3PM officiated by Rev. Cedric Murphy.
