Cathy Davidson Smith, a resident of Loranger, LA, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 76. Cathy is survived by her husband Danny Smith (married 55 years), her sons Jonathan D. Smith (Dana) and Lathan M. Smith (Joelle); one sister Jo Alice Young (Rev. Curtis Young) of Sacramento, CA; eight grandchildren McKenna, Callie, Isabella, Abigail, Connor, Madelynn, Reilly, and Sawyer.
She was born in Jena, LA on November 7, 1948. She was a long-time member of First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs where Rev. Billy Johnson is pastor. As a devoted mother, Cathy enjoyed spending quality time with her husband and family, which were an important part of her life.
She was an outstanding cook and homemaker and was known for always putting her family first. She loved attending church services and especially enjoyed the music, worship, and preaching. She used much of her spare time to reach out and help others. She lived with her husband at the Boys Ranch, where, for many years, she served as secretary in the business office.
She loved to travel and experience life in her motor home. She was a devout Christian and loved to read her Bible and pray. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who know her.
Cathy is preceded in death by her infant son, Loren David Smith; a son, Landyn Joel Smith, parents Rev. Ottis and Callie Davidson, brothers Elis Davidson, Charles Davidson, and Gary Davidson, all of Jena, LA.

A viewing is scheduled for August 28, 2025, 3-6 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church, South Range Avenue at Walnut Street, in Denham Springs, LA, and will be followed by a Memorial Service there at 6 p.m. Interment will take place on August 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery in Denham Springs, LA.
