Betty Joyce James Martin, lovingly known as “Mama”, “Mom”,

“Maw Maw”, “MeMaw”, “Aunt Betty”, “Sister”, “Friend” & “Prayer Warrior”, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 6:59 pm, with her 3 daughters her side. We will miss her dearly but REJOICE that she is in the arms of Jesus! She was 85 years old and a resident of Greenwell Springs.

She was married for 39 years to Joseph Martin, who predeceased her in 2004. Also, Betty was sadly predeceased by her grandson, Ransom Chad Holland, of Denham Springs, La. in 2022. She was a Beautician for 5 years prior to driving a school bus for 18 years. Then started as a temp, working for State Police, became permanent, and was placed in the Towing Department. She worked for LSP for 21 years & retired in 2020 as an Administrative Coordinator 4. She was a member of Milldale Baptist Church in Zachary, La. She was well known by many, as a Godly woman, who was always ready to pray with, intercede for, or witness to, every soul, that the Lord sent her way. She was an absolutely amazing woman, who was beautiful, with a beautiful soul! She was a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ and made a wonderful impact on so many lives. Words can never express how much she impacted our lives! A precious saint of God is with her Savior!

She loved everyone! And everyone loved her! We’re most grateful that God gave us the gift of her, as a Mother, Maw Maw, Me Maw, Sister, Aunt, & Friend!

She is survived by her children, Carlene Martin, Greenwell Springs LA.; Darlene Adams and son-in-law Sonny Adams, Baton Rouge, LA.; Sheila Holland and son-in-law Monte Holland (her adopted daughter) Zachary, LA.; grandchildren, Joseph Phillips, Greenwell Springs LA.; Tiffany Holmes and husband Holt Holmes, Clinton, LA.; Chris Adams, Honolulu, Hawaii; Madison Nicosia and husband Jonathan Nicosia, Baton Rouge, LA.; Justin Lynn, Greenwell Springs, LA.; Sheree’ Dempsey, Northport Ala.; Jessica Almand and husband Brett Almand, Denham Springs LA.; Jordan Holland and wife Kimberly Holland, Denham Springs, LA.; great grandchildren, Cassie Boyd and husband Adam Boyd, Jackson, LA.; Camryn Phillips, Clinton, LA.; Destiny Wright, Denham Springs, LA.; Luke Legendre, Thibodaux, LA.; Kohen and Stetson Holmes, both of Clinton, LA.; Bethany and Jade Lynn, both of Greenwell Springs, La.; Gracie Lynn, Huntsville Al; Cayla Workman and Noah Dempsey, both from Northport Al.; Kaleigh Fletcher, Denham Springs, La.; Tanner Rizan, Jaxx, Bekhem and Stevee Rhea Almand all from Denham Springs.; Breanna and Jacoby Creel, Remington and Maverick Holland all from Denham Springs, LA.; great,great grandchild,

Kentlee Boyd, Jackson La.; Nathaniel Triviz, Denham Springs, La.; two loving sisters, Allie Morgan Wilson and Nancy Morgan, Prairieville, La.; a niece (Betty Martin was like a mother to her) Amber Tanner Hunter, Holden, La.; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Leona Gore James, sister Beverly James Tanner.

Visiting at Milldale Baptist Church,

11950 Milldale Rd. Zachary, La. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 23, until religious services at 11:30, conducted by Rev. Jimmy Robertson. Interment in

Church cemetery. Lunch in dining hall at church after burial. A nursery will be provided from 11:00 - 1:30. Pallbearers will be Joseph Phillips, Justin Lynn, Jordan Holland, Brett Almand, Jonathan Nicosia and Kohen Holmes
