Benjamin Franklin “Ben” Hays was born on September 16, 1937, in Freer, Texas and rested from this life on December 1, 2025, at the age of 88 years.
He was a resident of Zachary, an electrical engineer by trade, a tinkerer by choice. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Fraternal Order of Police.
He is preceded in death by his parents James T. Hays Sr and Lillian Richardson Hays, brother J. T. Hays Jr., and Robert “Bobby” Hays.
Survivors include his former wife Gail Hays, daughters Jane Bates and husband Sonny, Lenora Ellis and husband Glen, also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A ceremony celebrating his life will be announced by the family.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Aubrey Dies, Donovan Dies, and Benjamin Cory Ellis.
