It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grand-mother, great-grandmother, and friend, Armande Louise McCleery, who was called home to the Lord on June 29, 2026 at the age of 85.
Armande was born on April 3, 1941 in St. Vital, Manitoba, Canada to Odile and Armand Faucher. At the age of sixteen, she moved with her family to Los Angeles where she graduated from Notre Dame Academy and met and married her loving husband, Thomas, to whom she was married for 64 years. In 1972, Armande and Tom moved with their family to Pascagoula, MS where they spent 52 years celebrating their lives. Armande went on to graduate from University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Education and taught French and History at Our Lady of Victories and Resurrection Catholic High School where she also served as the Women’s Soccer Coach. Her influence was felt across the youth of the community. She was actively involved with the Pascagoula-Moss Point Junior Auxiliary, Singing River Soccer Club, Sacred Heart Church, and the Greater Baton Rouge French Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grand-mother, great grand-mother, sister and friend. Although reading and knitting were some of her favorite past times, she enjoyed traveling, golfing, and gardening.
Armande is survived by her husband, Thomas; five children, David McCleery (Felicia) of Phoenix, Nicole Sanders (Michael) of Baton Rouge, Monique Hammelrath (Ed) of Pittsfield, Craig McCleery of Baton Rouge, and Gisèle Allen (Jared) of Baton Rouge. She was a loving grandmother to her eight grand-children, Jeremy Sanders (Adrienne), Alexander McCleery (Gili), Elliot Sanders, Olivia Sanders, Joseph Davis, Angèle McCleery, Benjamin Allen, and Madeleine Allen. She was also loved by her two great-grand-children; James and Lucie Sanders, and greatly missed by her sister Lucie Gregoiré (Rénald) and brother Roland Faucher (Patti), both of California.
