Alecia Reneé Kleinpeter, a force of nature and a fiercely devoted mother, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength and resilience. She was a woman with a tenacity that defined her existence. She taught her children to be relentless in their pursuits and unyielding in the face of adversity.
Alecia was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in East St. Louis, Illinois and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She graduated from D’Jay’s Institute of Cosmetology & Esthiology and went on to open her nail salon, The Perfect 10, where she touched the lives of so many women in her community by lending a listening ear or being a shoulder to cry on. Years after closing her salon to be at home with her children, Alecia worked for nonprofits in Baton Rouge including Alzheimer’s Association, Youth Oasis, and Cenikor Foundation. When she got an idea, there was no stopping her and that relentless determination led her to become a realtor – a career she was proud of and that gave her the opportunity to guide people through finding and parting with their homes.
She was a parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle in Baton Rouge, where she especially enjoyed being room mom, attending field trips, volunteering at the parish fair, and serving as a Eucharistic Minister.
Alecia had many meaningful friendships that functioned like family, and she lived a life of energy and joy. A patio with a live band and her closest friends or an always over-the-top get-together at her beautiful home were her favorite places to be.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Jason Vincent; her children who she loved fiercely, Breanna Kleinpeter Boudreau (Brendan) and Brandon Kleinpeter, Shawn Kazmir (Kenny) and Ryan Kleinpeter (Tina); her grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Cooper, Jack and Lucille, Karsyn, Eric, Abbey, Rylin, Owen, Kinsley and RJ; her mother, Rita J. Mesa, her sister Denea Mesa, and her many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her grandson Kohen Kleinpeter, her father Rudy Mesa and her grandmother Teresa Massa whom she loved dearly.
Alecia’s legacy of strength will live on in her children and grandchildren and her free-spirited love will live on in her friends.
The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to St. Jude the Apostle Church for visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 9am until 11am followed by a Funeral Mass. There will be a reception following mass at The Stockade Bed and Breakfast (8860 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, La 70808.)
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to The Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Alecia.
