Sally Jane (Wheeler) Simons
Wyoming, Michigan
Age 54, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2022, at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. She was born on March 15, 1968 in Fremont, Michigan to Robert “Bob” and Bonnie Wheeler. She was a 1986 High School graduate and then worked as an in-take administrator at a medical office for several years. On April 22, 2016 she married Shawn Simons in Allegan, Michigan.
Sally looked forward to going to Lake Michigan where she and Shawn would go for walks on the beach and boardwalk in Grand Haven. Smelling the beautiful lake breeze, feeling the sand and people-watching were true moments of pleasure. She and Shawn would then stop for a bite to eat, or go to her favorite corn dog stand. In six short years, they made memories for a lifetime. Shawn enjoyed her sense of humor and her passive personality. Besides spending time with her husband, she also liked spending time with her best friend Karen, her family, Shawn’s family and her little dog Jo-Jo.
Sally had a strong faith in God and loved being involved with her church. She was a member of Grand Rapids First church in Wyoming, Michigan and never hesitated to share her love for God, and strong faith with others.
As she prepared for her transition into eternal life, her faith became stronger as she found peace in every decision.
Besides her husband Shawn she is survived by her siblings: Linda (Robert) Postmus, Robert “Dale” (Sandra) Wheeler, Sharron (Ron) Wells, Patricia Jackson, Bonnie (Jimmy) White, and Larry (Eunice) Frantz; many special nieces and nephews, friend Karen McFeely, her mother-in-law Gerri Simons, brothers-in-law: Ted (Darla) Simons, Jr., and Scott Simons.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bonnie Wheeler, and her father-in-law, Ted Simons, Sr.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00am. Saturday, June 18th at Grand Rapids First, 2100 44th St. Wyoming, MI 49519 where the family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
