ames Howard Grindele, 74, of Nevada, TX, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025.
Born on January 11, 1951, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, James was the beloved son of Joseph Grindele and Elsie Kester.
James proudly served his community as a police officer, first with the Dallas Police Department Housing Authority and later with the Wylie Police Department and other municipalities. He dedicated many years to protecting and serving others with honor and integrity.
He was a devoted husband of 55 years to Barbara "Lucy" Grindele. He was the proud father of three children: Charity Yeakle, Valarie Davis and James Grindele
Jr.(wife Erin),a cherished grandfather to eleven grandchildren (TJ Yeakle, Sarah Yeakle, Brooke Foster, Kelle Yeakle, Kari Grindele, Lauren Kinnett, Morgan Davis, Kaine Yeakle, Lexi Perez, Drew Grindele), and a loving great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren( Korbin McKroskie, Amelia McKroskie, Lola Kinnett, Riley McKroskie, Nora Yeakle, Derrick Foster, Braelyn Foster, Lance Kirk). His family was the light of his life, and he found his greatest joy in their love and laughter.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Kester; his father, Joseph Grindele and his bonus mom, Phylis Grindele, who became a cherished part of the family after his mother's passing; his brothers J.L. Grindele and Joe Grindele; his sister Patty Rosenbalm and his beloved daughter Charity Yeakle.
He is survived by his siblings Linda Morris, Beverly Kay Smith, Timmy Cupp, William Cupp, Debbie Woolverton, and Jerry Grindele, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved and admired him deeply.
James will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. He had a heart for service-both to his community and his family-and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
