Evan...I cannot remember not even seeing a smile an his face or in his eyes.
Thank you for being a part of my life.
To Cindy & the rest of the family, his intelligence, grace, love for you and others shone tru and was visibly evident.
And whether he was known for a short time or for years ,,the greatest tribute is evident by how great of an impact he made,and how much he will be missed.
Me too, I will miss you also.

Evan was one of my good friends whilst in the GISD High-school Swim team. Always smiling and having a great time, we shared a lot of laughs. I remember sharing with Him some unreleased music I was making at the time, which He was excited to give feedback on. He was always a chill guy, and it was always a pleasure to hangout with Him.

I remember we always had a plan to go the gym together, but we would never follow through, lol. When I heard he was in community college early April, we immediately made plans to workout. Which we again, did not follow through lol.

I’m blessed to have known Him, even though we fell out of contact past high-school. We shared a-lot of interests in music, swimming and just-general life goals, and it was great to have such a relatable friend in a time where I felt I had very few.

I have Joy in knowing he is in the Loving arms of the Father, and am thankful to have had him as a friend. And I take comfort in knowing I will see Him again some-day.

The Skaaning family’s hearts are broken by the loss of Evan, beloved son of our dear friend James. James is a devoted and loving father, and no parent should ever have to endure such a tragedy. Though our time with Evan was limited, it was clear that his kindness, laughter, and bright spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
