Judith Anne Hogan
April 14, 1947 – June 13, 2025
Judith Anne Hogan, lovingly known as Miss Judy, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 14, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, to Bobby Don Densmore and Vonna Irene Kennamer Densmore, Judy’s life was a testament to her faith, her devotion to family, and her extraordinary gift for nurturing others.
Judy spent her childhood in the heart of East Dallas. She attended Mount Auburn Elementary and J.L. Long Middle School, began high school at Woodrow Wilson High School, and later graduated from Ridgefield High School in Waco. She went on to attend the University of North Texas in Denton. Even from a young age, Judy was known for her kind heart, quiet strength, and deep-rooted faith—qualities that would define every chapter of her life.
For eight years, Judy worked as a realtor, but it was in her 37-year career as a preschool teacher that she found her true calling. She nurtured and guided generations of children with a gentle spirit and joyful laughter that reflected the love of God she so readily shared. Through her preschool ministry, she began touching the lives of a third generation of families—proof of a legacy built on love, patience, and faith.
Judy was a devoted member of Pine Street Baptist Church, where her service was as faithful as it was abundant. She taught third and fourth grade Sunday School, led Bible Drill classes, and was a vital part of the kitchen committee—always ready to serve meals with warmth and hospitality. She was also an associate member of the Gleaners ministry, preparing the sanctuary each week with quiet dedication.
Her love for God’s creation came to life through her passion for flowers and gardening. She took great joy in decorating the sanctuary each Sunday and throughout the seasons, creating beautiful arrangements that brought joy, reverence, and peace to all who entered. Her favorite flower, the purple violet, and her love for all things purple were well known and reflected her gentle, vibrant spirit.
To be around Miss Judy was to feel special. She had a rare and beautiful gift for making each person feel like the most important person in the room. Whether she was teaching a child, comforting a friend, or chatting with a stranger, her presence made others feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Judy’s life was richly blessed with family. She is survived by her loving brother, Bobby Densmore and his wife Charletta; her children, Nathan Valentine and his wife Michelle, and Amy Valentine Woodard and her husband Lance; and her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Pryor, Victoria Valentine, Max Valentine, and Olivia Woodard. She is also survived by her nephew Matthew Densmore and his wife Tina; great-nieces Harper Jordan and Emily Densmore; and great-nephew Grant Densmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Don and Vonna Irene Densmore; her beloved husband, Joe Hogan; her niece, Addie Densmore; and many cherished friends and fellow saints who now welcome her into eternal peace.
To know Miss Judy was to know unwavering love, faith in action, and a life fully lived in service to God and others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.

What a blessing Miss Judy was to our family! When we would run into her, she would just cry and tell Dylan & Dustin how proud she was of them and the young men they have become. How fortunate we were to have been part of her world and she in ours! Love you and will keep you all in our prayers! Lance, Amy & Olivia!
