Veronica and I met in our 20s as LSU undergrad "babies", working together at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. We grew beyond co workers and as friends quite quickly. Her positive and supportive energy was infectious and made work so much fun.

In nearly 2 decades of friendship, a single memory that really sticks out for me is how beautiful she looked on her wedding day. Not just her outward beauty but the glow that she had from all of her joy. But if you've been lucky enough to know Veronica over the years, her positive and glowing energy was also constant.

It's no surprise that she ended up in education as she had a natural love for learning and was a born teacher. To know her was to feel unwavering support. She genuinely cared for so many and in any conversation it seemed her goal was to hold the other person up high and make them feel loved. Her inquisitive nature always offered a genuine investment and interest in my life and experiences. No matter how much time was in between our connections, we still connected so easily and that unrelenting support from her was so reliable. As we both ended up in education she continually inspired me in my work, as we often swapped tips and insight for pursuing other professional areas in the teaching field. She always made me feel accomplished and appreciated. What a gift it was to have her friendship over the years. Other wonderful memories that stand out to me were when Camille was just an infant and had some colicky days. I'd come to hang with Veronica and walk Camille outside to help her relax a bit while Veronica tried to get a little rest, and Veronica and I would have warm chats about life and her experience as a new mom. A few years ago I had the pleasure to spend time with Veronica and Camille when they visited New York. I cherish those memories of us spending the days together sightseeing and just catching up and sharing details about our lives. Veronica's mothering nature was glorious with whomever she met, but her love and nurturing caring relationship with Camille was an absolute pleasure to witness. What a beautiful celebration of life it was just to see the two of them together. As a new mother, I will take this as a model to live and to be with my own daughter.

I am so saddened that Veronica has left this world way too soon. She was such beauty and light and I am thankful for all the time I had with her, all of her support, and everything she taught me about enjoying life and making others feel appreciated and loved. I wish I could safely travel to be there as you lay her to rest and to celebrate her life, but please know that I am sending so much love and support from New York.

Veronica and I met at Virginia Tech 25 years ago. We remained in each other’s lives throughout the years , though not always consistent. We got busy with life and having a family, but Veronica always managed to be the one to call me up and check in on me. She was such an upbeat, positive person, always onto a new venture or project. I admired her creativity and her love of knowledge and constant learning to improve herself and those around her . I am so grateful that in the last year of her life, we were able to communicate almost every day . I now have videos of her that I will forever cherish. She was a dear friend and I will miss her so much. Until we meet again, Sweet V.

I met Veronica in 1999 in Manchester during our erasmus at MMU.
She were so full of love and joy...the same joy that i always felt in her even though if we where distant (i live in iltaly).
I was always struck by her enthusiasm in everything and her inextinguishable desire to travel and to come back and visit me here in Italy.
I would have liked to introduce her to my babies and spend some moments together.
life is so unfair sometimes.
Veronica, forgive me: we should have seen each other again!
for me too, as you told me few months ago, the days in Manchester and meeting you were unforgettable moments. Thank you my friend, always be by our side ...

Veronica and I met through The Runnels School. Nathan and Camille were in the same grade. We became friends and enjoyed play-dates throughout the years. We always ended up having deep and meaningful philosophical discussions about life when we were visiting. I loved it. Nathan attended a summer camp that Veronica hosted many years ago. And several years ago, Veronica selected a special tree and planted it in my front flower bed. I would send her pictures, occasionally, so she could see it growing. I will forever think of V each and every time I pass that tree. The depth and breadth of her talents always amazed and impressed me. She will be greatly missed...
