In lieu of flowers, family and friends of Dale Joseph Schexnayder who prefer to provide a memorial contribution may do so. The family will use these to honor Dale's life and memory through The Carpenter House of St Joseph Hospice and Sorrento Baptist Church. Dale Joseph Schexnayder, age 72, was born on November 13, 1948. He was a resident of Sorrento, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospice, The Carpenter House surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brady Schexnayder; and their children, Blair (Shea) Schexnayder, Dana (Phillip) Mitchell, and Dawn (Jeremy) Keller; grandchildren, Blaine, Taylor, Britney, Kaleb, Aaron; great grandson, Bentlee; sister, Dolores Hester; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond, and Agnes Schexnayder. Pallbearers are Blaine Schexnayder, Taylor Mitchell, Kaleb Mitchell, Ryan Gaudet, Clint Gaudet, and Brent Schexnayder, with honorary pallbearer, Aaron Keller. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Visitation will be at Sorrento Baptist Church on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 9:00am until funeral service at 12:00pm noon. Service will be conducted by Pastor Terry Simmoneaux and Pastor Phillip Mitchell. Burial will be at Hope Haven Garden of Memory immediately following the service. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Pinnacle Home Health, and the staff of The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
