A ceremony celebrating the life of Carlene Hood Allen will be held at 3 pm on Sunday August 1, 2021, at Magnolia Christian Assembly Church, 16425 Magnolia Bridge Road, Greenwell Springs, LA. Visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Felders (Gray’s Creek) Cemetery Denham Springs.
Carlene was born in Denham Springs on October 28, 1947, and passed from this life on Tuesday July 27, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center Main Campus Baton Rouge at the age of 73 years.
She was a resident of Port Allen, a faithful and devoted Christian, that had a love for God and his creation in nature and flowers. She was an avid reader and will be remembered as having a huge caring heart for people and encouraged everyone she met. It was an extreme joy to be in her presence.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Allen, mother Norma Lorena Tate Hood, father Johnny Davis Hood, stepmother Jennie Spiller Hood, siblings Narvis Jean Moore, Johnny Hood Jr., Mary Lou Reed and Bobby Nagin.
Survivors include her daughter Sherry Lynn Rodriquez, grandchildren Courtney and Preslie Rodriquez, siblings Loretta Sullivan, Yvonne Bernard (Keith), Hollis Hood (Teresa), Kenneth Hood (Sheila), Michael Hood (Audrey), Danny Nagin, Gail Nagin, Cathy Boone (Tom), Don Nagin (Liz), and Eddie Wayne Nagin (Dana); also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
