William P. "Skipper" Field III, 69, a resident of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 1, 1956, to Capt. William P. Field Jr. and Margie Mae (Martin) Guidry.

Skipper was a caring spouse, amazing Dad and proud Pawpaw who unquestionably loved his family and friends. He enjoyed listening to Swamp Pop music and loved singing along. Skipper was known by many for his love of shooting pool. He never missed a Tuesday, shooting 3-ball with the "boys". This is a hard "see ya later", but we know he is running the pool tables in Heaven. Thunder assures us that he's doing what he loved. Rack 'em up, Skip!

Skipper is survived by his lifelong companion, Marjie; daughter, Lacy; son, Brad (Paula); bonus children, Shewan Mitchem, Dustin Mitchem (Shannon) and Eric Hulderson; grandchildren, Emily, Gage, Tucker, Jonathan, Audrey, Karmin, Amelia and Abigail; beloved pet, Tank; best buddy, Chris Blackwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Hunt; brother, Eddie Rester.

Visitation will be held at River of Life Worship Center, 18295 LA-16 in Port Vincent, La on May 22, 2025, from 9 AM until funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6213 Groom Rd, Baker, La 70714 at 1 PM.

Pallbearers will be Brad Field, Eric Hulderson, T.J. Rester, Chris Blackwood, Darryle Harvey, and Ben Texada. Honorary Pallbearers are Robby Ray Hill and "Tadpole" Collins.
