Scott Wilson Maynard passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Nov. 17, at the age of 68. He graduated from West Jefferson High School. He earned a BA in accounting from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He quickly became a computer expert. For a while he owned a computer consulting business and later a computer store. For the last years of his career, he was a system analyst for Superior Energy. He loved cooking, military history, pickleball and the New Orleans Saints. He was a devout and active member of the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clara Lynn Yates Maynard; daughters, Rebecca Stolier (Mitchell) and Katherine Jabusch; his brother Geoffrey Bennett Maynard (Teresa); and sister India Maynard-Wych (Gideon Wych).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 230 Renee Drive, Baton Rouge at 11 am. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable contributions in memory of Scott Maynard be made to the Brain Support Network, PO Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026
