Linda Wright Romano, born Linda Ruth Wright, passed away peacefully on 20 March, 2024, after a hard battle with Cancer and COPD, at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital, in Baton Rouge, LA, at the age of 73 years old.
Linda is survived by her 2 sons, Keith F Romano (Baton Rouge, LA) and Charles I Romano (Acworth, GA) and her grandchildren Cayleigh Romano, Cadet Charles 'Remi' Romano, Ryleigh Romano, Austin Brashier, Jared Romano and Skyler Romano. She is preceded in death by her parents David Washington Wright (Hazelhurst, GA), her mother Henrietta Lovett Wright (Hazelhurst, GA), her husband Rosario 'Russ' Joseph Romano Jr,, her son Jerry Lee Romano and her daughter Kimberly Lynn McCombs.
Born on 08 Dec 1950 in Hazelhurst, GA in a home without running water or electricity, Linda was the youngest of 17 siblings, leaving school upon completion of the 8th grade to help her aging parents. She married a Vietnam Army Veteran, Charles Ingram McCombs Sr, having four children with him. Upon their divorce, the family was relocated to Baker, LA, where Linda took odd jobs and met Russ Romano while working for his father. They were married and Linda began work as a Pharmacy Clerk and assisted the family newspaper delivery business in Baker where she was known as the Little Newspaper Lady.
Linda will be remembered as a kind mother and friend. Her favorite moments in life involved fishing, crabbing, eating crawfish, watching "Old Westerns", family vacations in Pensacola, FL, telling stories about growing up in South Georgia and her many cats and dogs.
