On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Honey peacefully transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in passing by her mother, Audie Brescher, her father, F.C. Doyal, her brother, Ronnie Doyal, and her son, Mark Merritt.
Honey leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Gerald Merritt; her sons, Michael Sr. and Vic Merritt (Judith); her sister, Alethea "Lea" Bordelon; her brother, Ricky Doyal; and ten cherished grandchildren: Nathan Merritt, Danielle Gaudet (Jake), Kaylan Merritt, Michael Merritt Jr., Meaghan Johnson, Emilie Merritt, Megan Merritt, Hunter Merritt, Jacob Merritt, and Aden Merritt. Honey's legacy continues through her 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and 6,241 Hallmark Christmas ornaments.
A celebration of life service will be held September 3, 2024, at 12:00 at River Ministries International, 7615 Hwy 1, Addis, LA. 70710. There will be a reception immediately following at the Addis VFW Hall located at 749 Jefferson Ave, Port Allen, LA. 70767.
