Gloria Diane Nevels, 73, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on December 23, 2023. She was born on November 12, 1950, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Leroy and Helen B. Brown. Gloria was a woman of strong faith in Jesus and worshipped at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on SBN Network. She had a deep love for her family and was a very protective mother, sister, and daughter. Gloria was also a best friend with a great sense of humor, always there to listen and support others.
Professionally, Gloria obtained her associate degree in nursing from Shaw College in Detroit. She worked in skilled nursing, critical care, and ICU settings, providing compassionate care to patients across Michigan and South Louisiana. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed watching Son Life Broadcasting and QVC, reading her bible, crocheting, drinking coffee, and buying purses. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was often seen in her pajamas and flip-flops, welcoming visitors into her home.
Gloria is survived by brother, Frank L. Brown; sister-in-law Jacqueline L. Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. and Jessica M. Thompson, Sr.; grandchildren, Brooke L. Sanders, Thomas L. Thompson, Jr., Breanna L. Tarver, Dakota R. Thompson (Ramzi); great-grandchildren, Brantson M., Savannah L., and Adaya G. Brown, River H. Thompson, and Easton J.
