A ceremony celebrating the life of George “Poppy” Forbes will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday February 10, 2022, at First United Pentecostal Church Denham Springs, visitation will begin at 2 pm.
Pops was born on October 4, 1962, and departed this life on Saturday February 5, 2022, at the age of 59 years.
He was a resident of Tylertown, MS, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood-crafting, making knives, and especially time spent with his “girls” and family. He had a passion for motorcycles and was an avid listener of music of all genres.
He is preceded in death by his mother Linda Gayle Cockerham, and a brother Rodney Allen Cockerham, and biological father George Calvin Forbes.
Survivors include his spouse Lisa of seventeen years, sons Chris, James, Matthew, Joshua, Dustin, Jesse, and Cole, special daughter Bayleigh, his father Rodney Cockerham, siblings Thomas Forbes, Marie Boyte, Lilly Farrar, and Genie Brister, special cousin Sharon Forbes, special friends Kent Lang, Blain Bonnette, Dennie Mathis, Leonard Humphreys, Terry Billeaudeaux, and Jeremy Nolley, also survived by 15 grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
